I was iffy on the whole child-is-a-murderer thing, but there is a little more support to this speculation later.Īnyway, Eve goes across the street to meet her twin and explains to her what she knows from the diary. At this point, she feels like Repunzel since she was stuck in the attic all of her life. However, we speculate that Eve read the journal, and actually pushed Florence down the stairs so she can have a normal life. In a "white room" interview with Eve, she explains that this was a terrible accident. Years into Eve's childhood, Florence falls down the stairs and dies. However, there is a suspicious amount of backstory given that doesn't affect Simon's case, so this would be pretty good justification. Now, here is where one of my friends begins speculating. Eventually, Eve finds Florence's diary, and all is revealed to the child. Eve saw Hannah from across the street, and was fascinated by the fact that they looked so alike. Anyway, Florence lived across the street from the new family and raised Eve in her attic. Her rationality was that the mother did not expect to have twins, so she would be happy having the child she expected. However, Florence was actually jealous and instead kept the baby for herself. One of the children (Eve) was born with the umbilical chord around her neck, and the Midwife (Florence) told the mother than Eve did not survive. Okay, once upon a time, a mother gave birth to twins. I want to fully understand the game's story before continuing onto the next game in my long list of games to play this summer. Please help me understand the game better, and chime in with your own theories (and more importantly, how you came to them). I played through the game in two groups of people, so I have a bit of conflicting theories going on. You play as Sarah, the daughter of Eve, as she views a detective's (or is it just police footage?) recording interviews with Eve and Hannah. Okay, so the plot of the game essentially takes place in a police building in 2015.
